OK several things that need to happen or have happened...
POOL FILTER NEEDS TO BE REFURBISHED
We have noticed that the pool vacuum cleaner doesn´t work hardly
at all on filter so we have been running it all this time on ´waste´
but this uses a lot of water that is just going down the drain - about
an inch every cleaning and we vacuum the pool about 3 times a week. Also,
set on filter we cannot get the surface recycling to clear off the trash
off of the top of the water surface so we had a pool contractor come out
to see what the problem is and he says that the filter system needs to
be changed and that is should be done about every five years. I don´t
know if you have ever had this done but the cost to get this work done
is about 2,400 pesos. So we would like to get that taken care of when possible.
ROOFS NEED TO BE ADDED
The next thing is the roofs that need to be added so that the
rain doesn´t leak all over the place. This would involve having some
metal supports built and then some translucent sheet material attached
to keep the rain off of the upstairs patio (and thus out of the master
bedroom) and also over the utility area behind the kitchen which gets constantly
wet yet this is an important work area for the kitchen. We hav had one
estimate so far and the cost for this will be about 7,000 pesos for manufacture,
installation and materials. this really needs to get done as soon as possible
as the rainy season has started.
BUNGALOW REFURBISHED PLATE GLASS REPLACED
I didn´t mention it last month but we had that old broken plate
glass window replaced in the bungalow and refurbished the whole interior
- refinnished the floors, painted the walls, cleaned the grout in the bathroom,
had the sliding glass doors fixed so that it slides easily, put screen
on the bathroom window, bought and installed a light over the sink (there
were just wires there), wood trim around the bathroom door frame, bought
and installed a ceiling fan with lights, custom shower curtain rods manufactured
and installed, curtain rods and curtains for the two walls of windows
and repainted all of the metal on the exterior. It looks very nice now.
The only part we held out from last month´s rent was the 1,000.00
pesos to have the glass replaced.
LIGHT REPLACED IN MASTERBEDROOM
We also bought an overhead light fixture and had it installed for the
master bedroom this month. (the old one was falling apart)
LIGHT REPLACED IN THE POOL
We had one of the lights in the pool replaced after it went out and
we also had a switch installed so that the light in the pump room can be
turned on without climbing down into the room in the dark.
COVER FOR THE POOL
Rosalia has had an estimate for having a cover made for the pool so
that there is not such a large amount of trash falling and blowing into
the pool. This would cut down a great deal on the amount of maintainance
that this pool requires and would help to keep it a little warmer. the
estimate we got was for about $1,950.00 pesos as I recall.
PROBLEM WITH NEIGHBOR´S SERVANTS.
Your aunt´s servants for reasons unknown keep extremely late
hours and have been having late night parties in the middle of the week
with who knows how many people in the back yard including their very young
children who are out screaming in the yard till way after midnight to the
point that the other night we had to go bang on the door and request that
they quit the party and be quiet. It is very disturbing all the constant
late night activity around the servants quaters to often 3:00am!! I am
not sure if you aunt realizes the extent to which they are over there making
all kinds of racket at amazingly late hours and then they sleep in till
nearly noon. There seems to be a large number of extended family all living
in there or spending a great deal of time there from all around the neighborhood.
